CDP is an independent global environmental disclosure system. Organisations use its questionnaires to report environmental data, assess risks and opportunities, and demonstrate progress to stakeholders. Responses receive a score from D- to A, reflecting the organisation’s level of disclosure, awareness, management and leadership. [1]

For 2027, CDP has announced an earlier disclosure cycle and a shorter response window. The key dates are important for any organisation that wants its response to be scored. They should also guide internal planning for data collection, stakeholder input and evidence gathering.

For 2027, CDP has announced an earlier disclosure cycle and a shorter response window. The key dates are important for any organisation that wants its response to be scored. They should also guide internal planning for data collection, stakeholder input and evidence gathering.

CDP disclosure 2027: Key dates

The main dates for organisations responding to CDP are:

  • 24 February 2027: Request lists open. Requesters can begin creating and submitting their lists.
  • 7 April 2027: Request list deadline. Requesters can continue adding organisations after this date.
  • 14 April 2027: Response window opens. Disclosers can access the questionnaire and begin preparing their responses.
  • 23 June 2027: Scoring deadline. Responses submitted by this date will be eligible for a CDP score.
  • 25 August 2027: Final response deadline. The questionnaire closes after this date, and no further edits can be made.

The scoring deadline is the date to work towards if your organisation wants its response to receive a CDP score. Organisations can continue making edits until 25 August, but those changes will not be scored after 23 June. [1]

What changes in 2027?

The 2027 response window will be one month shorter than in previous cycles. CDP expects this to remain manageable because of improvements to the copy forward function, a new artificial intelligence enabled response suggestion feature and no major questionnaire changes currently expected. [1]

CDP also aims to deliver scores to disclosers in September 2027. The public score release is planned for November, with data products continuing to be delivered after the response window closes. Exact release dates will be communicated later. [1]

The earlier cycle creates a more defined preparation window. Organisations should begin reviewing their previous response, collecting evidence and confirming internal owners before the questionnaire opens.

How to prepare

A strong CDP response depends on more than completing the questionnaire. Teams should prepare the information and decision making behind each answer.

Start with four practical steps:

  • Review your previous CDP response and score to identify recurring gaps.
  • Confirm which internal stakeholders own climate, forests and water related information.
  • Check that emissions data, targets, risks, opportunities and governance information are current.
  • Create an internal timetable that works towards the 23 June scoring deadline.

Nexio Projects supports organisations with CDP assessment completion, questionnaire review and gap analysis. Our team can help collect the necessary information, identify missing evidence and develop a prioritised roadmap before the next submission. [2]

The earlier 2027 cycle rewards organisations that begin preparation before the portal opens. Use the coming months to clarify ownership, strengthen evidence and connect your CDP response with wider climate and reporting priorities.
