Ongoing project
CSRD, SBTi and EcoVadis for a global food production leader
The Challenge
A B2B food producer confirmed for CSRD Wave 2 is building a full ESG infrastructure against a live reporting deadline. Operating 11 manufacturing facilities across 7 European countries, the business manages a large distributed footprint. CSRD is not a single reporting event. It demands a programme that keeps working, keeps improving and stays assurance ready each year.
Project Objectives
01
Identify and prioritise the material sustainability topics that should drive ESRS reporting decisions, so the company reports on what genuinely matters to its business and its stakeholders.
02
Quantify the full carbon footprint across Scope 1, 2 and 3 and secure externally validated Science Based Targets strong enough to satisfy investors, customers and regulators.
03
Strengthen external ESG performance signals through a structured EcoVadis improvement roadmap and EU Taxonomy assessment aligned to the company's CSRD obligations.
Nexio Projects’ Solution
01
CSRD-aligned Double Materiality Assessment
We conducted a full DMA in October 2024, identifying 29 material matters across Environment, Social and Governance. We updated and validated the DMA in 2026 to reflect evolving priorities. Ongoing monitoring keeps the programme aligned to ESRS guidance as it develops.
02
Full Scope 1, 2 and 3 climate programme
We mapped the full GHG inventory. We then secured SBTi validation, delivered a Climate Transition Plan, an Environment Policy and a TCFD aligned Climate Risk Assessment.
03
EcoVadis and sustainability management
We designed a structured EcoVadis roadmap covering all four pillars, completed an assessment review, and delivering a Sustainability Management Implementation plan. We also completed the EU Taxonomy Eligibility Assessment to support CSRD and investor disclosure.
Key Outcomes
The client has a sustainability programme that continues to support CSRD reporting cycles and respond to growing demands for climate data. It builds on the foundation established across all 11 sites.

CSRD foundation delivered
29 material matters identified and mapped across all five ESRS environmental and social pillars. The programme stays assurance ready as reporting cycles continue to evolve.

SBTi commited
Net zero 2050 confirmed by the Science Based Targets initiative in March 2026. Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions committed to down 63% by 2035. Scope 3 committed to down 37.5% by 2035. FLAG emissions committed to down 45.5% by 2035, with zero deforestation across all key commodities by 2030.

Carbon Footprint mapped fully
Total GHG inventory identified, with Scope 3 representing 97.5% of the footprint. We identified that this is driven by purchased ingredients including cocoa, wheat and dairy. Emission hotspots across 11 sites and 7 countries identified and prioritised inside the Climate Transition Plan. Each year, the inventory gets sharper.
