Workshop: Communication on Progress (CoP) Questionnaire in Practice

Romina Coral
Sustainability Consultant | Nexio Projects

A practical, in-person workshop to help you complete the United Nations Global Compact‘s annual Communication on Progress questionnaire, the key reporting mechanism for all participating companies worldwide.

About the Workshop

The CoP questionnaire is more than a compliance exercise. Used strategically, it can become a powerful tool to demonstrate your company’s sustainability progress on a global stage.

Romina Coral Andrade (Nexio Projects) and Sander Bastiaan de Ruiter (UN Global Compact Network Netherlands) will guide participants through the questionnaire with interactive exercises and peer discussions, showing how to approach the CoP as a strategic asset rather than just a reporting obligation.

This free workshop is open to all business participants, with a particular focus on companies that joined the UN Global Compact in 2025 or 2026.

Workshop Recap: The Hague Session

Last week, Nexio Projects co-hosted the first “CoP Questionnaire in Practice” workshop in The Hague, together with the UN Global Compact Network Netherlands.

Sustainability professionals from the Dutch business community came together to explore how to approach the CoP as a strategic asset. With the 2026 reporting window now open, the session offered timely, practical guidance.

Key insights from the workshop:

  • The CoP feeds one of the largest free sources of comparable corporate sustainability data in the world – making a well-completed submission valuable beyond compliance.
  • Most organisations don’t have a data problem. They have a coordination problem. The data exists across legal, HR, procurement, and finance. Knowing who holds what is half the work.
  • If you already report under GRI or CSRD, you already have most of the CoP data. The overlap is significant.
  • The submission deadline is Friday, 31 July. Starting early creates space to close the gaps you will find along the way.

A special thanks to Romina Coral Andrade and Nexio Projects for bringing practitioner case studies that put real company context behind each of these points, and to all participants who joined from the Dutch business community.
