“Purpose brings focus and creates the energy needed to drive sustainable transformation. Without it, sustainability cannot be embedded into the DNA of an organisation.”

— Felix Keser

In 2024, Nexio Projects navigated an intense pace of change while supporting its clients at scale—delivering 420 projects across 30 countries and more than 25 sectors. This period was marked by rapid evolution in services and a continued shift from compliance-based work to purpose-driven impact. “What stands out most for me this year is the way the team has adapted,” reflects Felix Keser, emphasising the team’s ability to maintain high-quality outcomes amid growth and complexity. The year also saw the organisation reaffirm its core mission, showcased by strong client feedback (NPS of 74), and prestigious recognitions such as the EcoVadis Platinum status and continued leadership among Europe’s highest-scoring B Corp consultancies.

Adapting at pace: Team resilience and growth

The rapid changes and challenges of 2024 demanded exceptional team collaboration and adaptability. Nada Afra highlights the communicative and supportive nature of the team during the impact report process: “We work collaboratively to ensure clear communication and a well-organised distribution of tasks, so everyone remains fully informed and aligned.” This culture of openness was crucial as the team balanced the need to distil essential information into a concise format while navigating evolving reporting standards like the ESRS alignment. Roman reflects on being relatively new and quickly learning the company’s history and ongoing commitments, revealing how the experience fostered a strong connection to the organisation’s broader mission. This resilience and shared learning demonstrate the foundational role of culture and communication in Nexio Projects’ sustained success.

From compliance to purpose: Evolving client journeys

Nexio Projects continued its strategic shift from traditional measurement and benchmarking towards enabling clients to operationalise sustainability with real impact. “2024 was another important step forward, as we continued that shift from measuring and benchmarking towards further implementing change,” says Felix. The team’s role has expanded from being measurement experts to trusted partners, designing multi-year sustainability journeys and helping clients decarbonise and integrate ESG strategies deeply into their business operations. Felix highlights the significance of collaboration, noting, “No one can solve climate change alone; business must adopt collective ownership through joint commitments and partnerships across the value chain.” This transformation aligns with Nexio’s commitment to guide organisations beyond compliance toward authentic purpose, facilitating lasting environmental and social benefits.

“The rapid evolution of ESG standards creates challenges for companies; focusing on what truly matters for your business, through materiality assessments, is key to staying on track.”

— Felix Keser

Organisational transformation and cultural strength

The balancing act between immediate client needs and long-term vision intensified amid regulatory complexities like CSRD rollout and market volatility. Nexio Projects responded by restructuring into smaller, agile teams to enhance responsiveness and expertise. “We approached these challenges by leaning into transparency and opening up the conversation across the team,” Felix explains. Beyond operational changes, culture remains a core strength. Investments in wellbeing, flexibility, and inclusion initiatives—such as hybrid work policies, the Queer Circle, and appointing a JEDI Ambassador—have fostered a thriving workplace. Nada notes a personal connection to the People section of the report, celebrating improvements in employee development and culture that reinforce Nexio’s values. These efforts resulted in an outstanding 92% score for Great Place to Work in 2024.

Governance with integrity and stakeholder trust

Nexio’s governance approach is deeply intertwined with its values and stakeholder commitments. As a certified B Corp, the company considers all stakeholder interests, driving transparent decision-making and inclusive engagement. Felix shares, “We’ve made a legal commitment to consider all stakeholder interests, not just those of our shareholders. That sets the tone for every decision we make.” In 2024, Nexio strengthened governance further by completing a fully ESRS-aligned double materiality assessment, expanding ethics training, enhancing the Anti-Greenwashing Protocol, and maintaining zero reported breaches or complaints. This robust framework fosters trust internally and externally, ensuring credibility and consistency in delivering sustainable impact.

Looking forward: Accelerating impact in 2025

The lessons of 2024 are already shaping Nexio Projects’ trajectory in 2025. Adaptability remains essential, driving simplified decision-making and client-centric approaches that do not compromise quality or focus. The organisation’s long-term view encourages moving beyond regulatory compliance to deliver genuine competitive advantage through sustainability journeys. Felix summarises, “When our people thrive, so does our impact,” underscoring that culture, partnerships, and governance form the keystone of Nexio Projects’ continued progress. By deepening collaborations with partners like EcoVadis, B Corp, and technology innovators, Nexio Projects is not just advising but implementing high-impact solutions in an ever-evolving sector.
