Ongoing project
When your EcoVadis score dips, it’s telling you something. Here’s what a global technology company did next.
The Challenge
A small EcoVadis score drop showed that sustainability needed to become a continuous discipline, not a once-a-year reporting exercise.
Project Objectives
01
Diagnose why the score dipped from 65 to 62 and build a programme structure that prevents the same erosion in future cycles.
02
Extend the sustainability programme beyond EcoVadis by quantifying climate risk across the company's global operations.
03
Connect sustainability improvement to internal operating processes so progress is embedded, not just documented.
Nexio Projects' solutions
01
Multi-year EcoVadis support
Implementation support across the 2022, 2024 and 2025 assessment cycles. Each cycle: gap review, updated action plan, evidence preparation and submission coaching. Medal moved from Bronze to Silver.
02
Programme review and rebuild
a root cause analysis identified the specific areas where methodology changes had outpaced the evidence base. A continuous programme model was adopted, with quarterly reviews now replacing annual sprints.
03
Climate risk assessment
Physical and transition climate risks assessed and scored across the company's global infrastructure footprint, with the risk framework continuing to evolve as Correntics methodology updates.
Key Outcomes
The client has a sustainability programme that continues to cater for ongoing EcoVadis improvement and climate risk disclosure needs, as well as the growing sustainability requirements of enterprise procurement processes globally.

EcoVadis Silver reached
Score moved from 60 Bronze to 65 Silver across two cycles of implementation support. The 2025 dip to 62 identified specific evidence gaps that have now been closed. The programme structure is rebuilt for continuous improvement.

Climate risks identified
Physical and transition climate risks quantified using the Correntics methodology. Risk scores now available for investor disclosure, customer sustainability questionnaires and internal strategic planning.

Continuous programme model in place
Quarterly sustainability reviews replace the previous annual-only approach. EcoVadis methodology changes are tracked in real time. Evidence is refreshed proactively, not reactively. Score erosion between cycles is now a managed risk, not a surprise.
