Case study

Interfood

The Challenge
Interfood Global wanted to understand its own carbon impact. As customer expectations for emissions data grew alongside that internal drive, building a complete, audit ready GHG picture across all three scopes became both a company commitment and a commercial requirement.

Project Objectives

01
Build a complete, audit ready GHG inventory across Scope 1, 2 and 3 for the full Interfood Global group.
02
Navigate the real complexity of a global trading footprint: consolidating data across 14 entities, the scale and diversity of a trading portfolio and product level emission analysis across diverse dairy categories.
03
Produce data credible enough for supplier and customer conversations, third party audit scrutiny and long-term decarbonisation decisions.

Key Outcomes

Nexio Projects delivered a robust carbon footprint mapping, as well as increasing product-level decarbonisation strategy discussions across the organisation.
A complete, audit ready GHG picture
Interfood's full carbon footprint is now mapped across all three scopes. As disclosed in Interfood's 2025 Integrated Report, total carbon footprint reached nearly 9 million tCO2e, anchored by a Scope 1 and 2 baseline of only 345 tCO2e, highlighting the challenge and focus of Interfood’s decarbonisation strategy.
Product level insight sharpening decarbonisation conversations
Insights in the carbon footprint of product categories across Interfood's portfolio. The team now enters supplier and customer conversations with specific product data, enabling precise decarbonisation priorities.
Sustainability as a commercial differentiator
Emissions transparency helps position Interfood as a trusted partner for customers and suppliers advancing their sustainability ambitions, strengthening long-term commercial relationships.
Testimonials

Interfood

“We’ve spent the past few years at Swapfiets working to reduce our emissions, although we lacked a clear framework and defined decarbonisation pathways. Partnering with Nexio Projects has allowed us to step back, better understand our impact, and develop a tailored, SBTi-aligned approach that gives us confidence in reaching our goals.”
