EcoVadis explained – Scoring and weighting

So, EcoVadis operates on a Policies, Actions and Results framework.

Policies set out your high-level commitments for your company and what you want to achieve in terms of sustainability.

Your actions are what actually drive your company to achieve the commitments outlined in those policies.

And then, lastly, the results are where you report on the actions you are taking to achieve the commitments highlighted in the policies.

This is a circular framework, so you’re supposed to feed these loops back into each other. In the end, this will generate positive progression over the years.

As for the weighting of these different indicators, as I just mentioned, you have the Policies, Actions and Results. Policies account for 25% of your overall EcoVadis score, Actions account for 40% of your EcoVadis score, and, lastly, Results account for 35% of the EcoVadis score.
