The role
As an Intern in our Rotterdam Office, you will have an active role in every aspect organisation. You will have an active role in diagnosing and evaluating a company’s sustainability efforts and implementing sustainable changes within their organization while determining where an organisation stands regarding climate change. As training and growth are a central part of Nexio Projects, we will provide you with the tools and trainings needed to allow you to grow as a sustainability leader.

Your skills and experience
- University degree, ideally at a Master’s level or higher, in business/management studies, sustainability, environmental science or engineering.
- More than six months experience
- Growth mindset with solid experience and interest in scaling service offerings and solutions.
- Fluent in English and French or Dutch. This requirement is mandatory for this internship cycle.
- Interest or/and previous experience in consultancy
- Demonstrated interest and/or prior experience in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) topics, focusing on climate-related initiatives or broader sustainability efforts within business contexts.
- Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and other software tools.
- Proactive communicator with strong interpersonal skills – making complex ideas accessible and editing others’ writing to ensure clarity
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
- Team player who works quickly, independently
- Do-er attitude, impact-driven and a strong multitasking skills
What you deliver
- Support client projects by assisting with ESG assessments, sustainability strategies, and reporting.
- Contribute to developing and managing internal knowledge databases, ensuring the centralization of key insights, regulations, and data.
- Collaborate with team members to capture and centralize best practices, enhancing organizational learning and continuous improvement.
- Work on sustainability gap analyses of our clients and develop roadmaps for improvement.
- Learn and apply various assessment methodologies (EcoVadis, BCorp, CDP…) and reporting standards (UNGC, GRI…), carbon footprint calculations (Scope 1,2,3).
- Identify the actions and measures our clients need to embed sustainability into their DNA.
- Research specific sustainability topics and have a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Write, analyse, format, and summarise information, graphs, presentations, and reports.
- Support project manager in client-facing calls.
